Who is involved in the CONTIEMPO Project ? ARFIE (Association de Recherche et de Formation sur l'Insertion en Europe) is an NGO (non-governmental organisation) which brings together at European level various partners involved in the care and support of disabled people, associations of and for disabled people, training bodies, researchers and professionals on the ground working in initial and continuing training. They have considerable experience working on European projects concerned with staff training and are the promoters of this project. HFT (The Home Farm Trust Limited)HFT is a registered charity working in the UK. They exist to provide the best quality of support and care for people with a learning disability, their carers and families. La Fondation A.P.E.M.H (Association de Parents d’Enfants Mentalement Handicapés), is a national NGO working in Luxembourg for the support of people with mental disabilities, multiple disabilities and those with dual diagnosis. The principal aim of the association is to improve the quality of life of their client groups and to ensure their social and vocational integration. They have numerous services in various areas, such as residences (`foyers d’hébergement´) educational support structures to enable people to live in the community, sheltered workshops and a training centre for professionals in the field.http://www.apemh.lu
The Hand in Hand Foundation is a Hungarian national organisation, which aims to improve life circumstances of people with disabilities, their families and professionals working for and with them. They are in touch with possibly every NGO in the country that provides services for people with intellectual or multiple disabilities and support them by providing information and consultation as well as by organising conferences, training and other professional programmes.http://www.kezenfogva.hu
University College Dublin, Centre for Disability StudiesThe Centre for Disability Studies was established in 2002 with the appointment of the NDA Chair in Disability Studies at the National University of Ireland, Dublin. It is dedicated to the emerging field of disability studies - the interdisciplinary and scholarly exploration of all aspects of disability. It does so by encouraging disabled people to live and work in conditions which are as mainstream as possible. Karin Dom (literally: Karin’s Home) in Varna, Bulgaria. The Karin Dom Foundation, founded in 1994, works as a Centre for Children with Special Needs and as a Training and Resource Centre. It is an NGO, registered in public benefit. It provides therapy for children with physical and intellectual disabilities (early intervention). Each child is assessed by a multidisciplinary team which draws up and carries out an individual care plan, based on the needs of the child and aimed at early social inclusion. As a result, one hundred children with special needs have been integrated in schools and kindergartens.
